Job Summary
As a Senior DevOps Engineer within the Corporate Information Technology (CIT) division, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the global Manufacturing Execution System (MES) platform for the Carl Zeiss Group. Your daily responsibilities involve bridging the gap between production processes and modern IT architecture, specifically translating plant requirements into scalable technical solutions within the SAP Digital Manufacturing environment. You will lead technical discussions with SAP and external partners, oversee effort estimations, and drive the digital transformation of manufacturing sites. This role is unique for its focus on high-impact global production environments, offering the chance to optimize performance and stability while advancing DevOps methodologies in a shopfloor context. You will be responsible for the entire lifecycle, from architecture and UI design to incident analysis and sustainable documentation, ensuring seamless integration of digital transformations into core business processes.
Required Skills
Education
Completed degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable qualification.
Experience
- Several years of professional experience in the development or configuration of MES systems
- Extensive experience in production environments, shopfloor operations, or factory control
- Proven experience in DevOps environments including CI/CD and system stability
- Experience in translating functional requirements into technical solution concepts
- Professional experience in integration architectures and API management
