As a Material Development Engineer at Heliatek, you will play a pivotal role in advancing sustainable solar technology. Based in Dresden, you will be responsible for selecting, developing, and qualifying critical components, adhesives, and film systems for the production of flexible organic solar modules. Your daily work involves a mix of hands-on technical support for process engineers, collaborating with project teams to improve material performance, and providing technical guidance to the procurement department during supplier negotiations. This position is ideal for a professional with a background in material science or chemical engineering who enjoys root-cause analysis and process optimization. Required Skills
Education
University degree in a technical field such as Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable qualification with a focus on Chemistry.
Experience
- Professional experience in the selection and qualification of materials and components
- Experience in the field of photovoltaics is highly desirable
- Demonstrated expertise in plastics technology or adhesive systems
- Experience in technical data analysis using tools like JMP or SQL
- Experience collaborating with procurement and external suppliers on technical specifications
