Job Summary

This role involves the commissioning and optimization of rail vehicles for a leading company in the rolling stock industry based in Kassel. As a Commissioning Technician, you will be responsible for conducting functional tests on locomotives, performing type tests, and providing engineering and homologation support. The day-to-day work includes creating comprehensive test specifications, documentation for overall inspections, and managing error reporting and change management processes. A unique aspect of this position is the opportunity for international travel across Europe to provide operational and warranty support for vehicles on-site. The role requires a high degree of safety awareness and adherence to standard processes such as ECM and EHS. It is an ideal position for a proactive technical professional who enjoys a mix of hands-on testing, technical documentation, and field service in a dynamic engineering environment.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training in electrical engineering, such as Commissioning Technician for Electrical Engineering or Electronics Technician for Machines and Drive Technology.

Experience

  • Professional experience in rail transport technology and locomotives
  • Experience in commissioning and optimization of complex machinery
  • Experience in performing functional and type tests
  • Experience in creating test specifications and technical reporting
