Job Summary

The District Town of St. Wendel is seeking an Energy Manager to lead the implementation and operation of a software-supported Energy Management System (EMS) for its municipal properties, including schools, administrative buildings, and sports facilities. In this role, you will be responsible for the systematic recording and analysis of energy consumption and CO2 emissions to identify optimization potentials and implement cost-saving measures. Your daily tasks will involve monitoring technical building systems such as heating, ventilation, and electricity, as well as conducting training for building users to promote energy-efficient behavior. This position offers a unique opportunity to directly impact climate protection within a public service framework. You will work within a supportive team environment with flexible working hours and the benefits of the TVöD public service collective agreement. The role is fixed-term until the end of 2028, aligned with federal funding for climate protection initiatives.

Required Skills

Education

Degree in Energy Management, Energy/Building Technology, Climate Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Technology, or a comparable technical field (Dipl.-Ing., Bachelor); or a qualification as a state-certified Technician or Master Craftsman in Electrical Engineering, Supply Technology, or HVAC.

Experience

  • Professional experience in building energy efficiency, renewable energies, or climate protection is desirable
  • Experience in planning or supporting energy management projects is preferred
  • Experience with energy-related legal regulations and technical standards
  • Proven ability to work independently, analytically, and in a structured manner within a technical environment
