Job Summary
This role involves the technical and organizational leadership of the client administration department at the German Archaeological Institute (DAI) in Berlin. You will be responsible for managing staff, assigning tasks, and ensuring the quality of work results. Day-to-day, you will design and develop client infrastructure, including automated software distribution and management systems. A key part of the role involves planning migrations for Windows and macOS environments, ensuring hardware and software compatibility, and overseeing IT security levels on end-user devices. You will also provide 2nd and 3rd-level support for complex issues and plan IT infrastructure for archaeological excavations and field research. Required Skills
Education
University degree with a focus on Computer Science or a comparable qualification; alternatively, completed vocational training as an IT Specialist for System Integration or Application Development.
Experience
- Professional experience in client administration and system integration
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft and Apple client operating systems
- Several years of experience with automated software distribution systems
- At least 2 years of experience using ticket systems and documentation platforms
- Proven leadership experience is highly desired
- Experience in the public sector or scientific research environment is preferred

- Willingness to undertake occasional domestic and international business trips is required. Applicants currently in the federal public service will initially be processed via secondment with the aim of permanent transfer.
