Job Summary
The Wuppertal Police Headquarters is seeking a Head of Department for Section ZA 24 within the Central Tasks Directorate. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for the disciplinary and functional supervision of a team of approximately seven employees. Your daily responsibilities include planning efficient personnel and resource allocation, coordinating fundamental departmental matters, and implementing organizational standards. A unique aspect of this position is the dual responsibility of serving as the Occupational Health and Safety Coordinator. You will be expected to foster a collaborative, trust-based working environment while representing the department both internally and externally. This is a permanent, full-time or part-time position (A 11 pay grade) located in Wuppertal, offering a stable career path within the North Rhine-Westphalia state police force. The role is intended for a minimum tenure of four years to ensure organizational continuity.
Required Skills
Education
University degree or qualification for the elevated general administrative service (LG 2.1) in North Rhine-Westphalia, or equivalent federal/state civil service qualifications (e.g., Degree in Finance or Law).
Experience
- Professional experience as a civil servant at the A 11 LBesO NRW pay grade or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience in personnel leadership and team management
- Proven experience in administrative coordination and functional supervision
- Experience in implementing organizational goals and standards within a public authority
- Background in occupational health and safety or willingness to coordinate these tasks
