Job Summary

As an Electrical Automation Engineer in the R&D department at DFT (a KNAPP AG subsidiary), you will be at the forefront of developing next-generation sorting and sequencing systems for global eCommerce and logistics markets. Your daily responsibilities involve designing innovative electrical concepts, evaluating emerging technologies, and refining automation standards. You will bridge the gap between conceptual R&D and practical application by working in EPLAN, testing components on-site at customer facilities, and collaborating across disciplines including mechanics, PLC development, and digital twin simulation. This role is unique for its holistic technical scope, allowing you to influence the entire product lifecycle from initial design to the training of assembly managers. Required Skills

Education

Degree in Electrical Engineering or a comparable field of study.

Experience

  • Professional experience in electrical design (E-Konstruktion), ideally focused on sorting systems for hanging or flat goods
  • Proven experience in creating electrical schematics and standards using EPLAN
  • Experience in interdisciplinary collaboration across mechanics, PLC development, and assembly teams
  • Experience in evaluating and integrating new automation components and technologies
  • Experience in developing technical training materials and conducting staff training
