Job Summary
As the Head of Quality Control and Laboratory, you will take on a pivotal leadership role overseeing the quality of food products and ensuring smooth daily laboratory operations. You will be responsible for the disciplinary and technical management of the department, which includes coaching employees and supervising laboratory trainees. A core part of your mission is ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations while preparing for and accompanying audits such as IFS or specific customer audits. You will drive the continuous improvement of the QC organization by optimizing laboratory instructions, methods, and quality standards. Additionally, you will manage product releases and blocks, plan proficiency tests, and monitor internal testing schedules. This position is ideal for a decisive professional with a strong background in food chemistry or technology who enjoys a structured, motivating environment and possesses the technical expertise to oversee microbiology and analytical chemistry processes.
Required Skills
Education
Degree in Food Chemistry or Food Technology, or a qualification as a Dairy Laboratory Technician with Master-level further education (Meister), or a comparable qualification. Instructor Aptitude Certification (AEVO) is preferred.
Experience
- Several years of leadership experience in a laboratory environment
- Professional experience in microbiology, analytical chemistry, and biotechnology
- Experience in food technology processes such as spray drying and aseptic filling is preferred
- Proven experience in managing internal and external audits
- Experience in training and supervising laboratory apprentices

- Instructor aptitude certification (Ausbildereignung) is highly desirable for supervising trainees.
