Job Summary
The Leipzig Weights and Measures Office is seeking a dedicated Technician or Master Craftsman to join their DAkkS-accredited calibration laboratory. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of calibration orders for force measuring devices (up to 600 kN) and material testing machines (up to 5 MN). Your daily activities will include preparing quotes, performing technical measurements, ensuring quality assurance, and handling billing. A unique aspect of this position is the structured development path: through a multi-stage induction and training process, you will be prepared to take on the role of Deputy Laboratory Manager. The position offers a balance of office-based work and field service, requiring physical stamina for handling testing equipment. Required Skills
Education
State-certified Technician (Staatlich geprüfter Techniker) or Master Craftsman (Meister) in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Technology, or a comparable technical field.
Experience
- Professional experience as a State-certified Technician or Master Craftsman in a technical field
- Experience in handling mechanical and electrical/electronic technical tasks
- Preferred: Previous experience with the calibration of force measuring devices and material testing machines
- Experience in customer contact and administrative order processing (quoting to billing)
Languages
Additional
- Valid Class B driver's license with driving experience is required. Willingness to undertake multi-day business trips. Physical resilience for manual handling of testing equipment is necessary. Position is based in Leipzig under the TV-L E9a collective agreement.
