Job Summary
As a (Senior) Grid Connection Engineer at hep solar, you will play a pivotal role in advancing the energy transition by developing and implementing holistic grid strategies for photovoltaic and battery energy storage systems (BESS). Your daily responsibilities will involve creating innovative grid connection concepts, performing technical planning for medium and high-voltage networks, and conducting complex load flow analyses and loss calculations. You will be responsible for designing single-line diagrams, routing cables, and managing the approval processes for substations and transfer stations. This role is highly collaborative, requiring close coordination with grid operators and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with VDE standards. Required Skills
Education
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Energy Economics, or Industrial Engineering
Experience
- At least 5 years of professional experience in grid connection planning, grid integration, or grid operation
- Extensive experience in the renewable energy or battery storage sector
- Proven track record of working with grid operators and navigating the German grid landscape
- Experience in managing approval processes for substations and transfer stations
- Strong background in technical negotiation and complex coordination

- The role involves coordinating with German grid operators and requires deep knowledge of German technical connection rules (TAB). Mobile work is possible, including up to 20 days per year from other EU countries.
