Job Summary

This role is part of the 'ALAFERM' research project within the AutomaTiQ research group at htw saar, focusing on sustainable processes and food waste reduction in the dairy sector. As a Research Associate, you will be responsible for the selection and integration of various sensors (pH, temperature, NIR, ultrasound) to monitor whey processing. A core component of the position involves building a digital twin to model bio-physical processes using biochemical data and developing end-to-end AI-based methods to predict product characteristics like taste and texture. You will conduct laboratory experiments, document results, and present findings at scientific conferences. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a cross-border, interdisciplinary environment (DE/FR/LUX) with a strong focus on innovative food production technology. The role is based in Saarbrücken and is funded until December 31, 2028, offering a dynamic academic atmosphere with flexible working conditions.
