Job Summary
As the Head of Waste Management at VIVO Kommunalunternehmen, you will lead the disposal operations for the Miesbach district in Bavaria. This dual-focused role involves both technical and personnel leadership, where you will manage approximately 120 employees and oversee the smooth operation of waste disposal and recycling processes. Day-to-day, you will control operational workflows, manage procurement and contract awarding procedures, and coordinate construction or maintenance projects for disposal facilities in collaboration with external partners. You will also be responsible for data analysis, reporting directly to the board, and ensuring strict compliance with environmental laws, occupational safety, and quality management standards. This position is ideal for a strategic leader who wants to implement and evolve regional waste management concepts. The role offers the stability of public service (TVöD) in a scenic location south of Munich, combined with the opportunity to shape sustainable environmental practices for a major municipal utility.
Required Skills
Education
University degree in Engineering or Business Administration, preferably with a focus on Environmental Technology, Circular Economy, or a comparable field.
Experience
- Professional experience in the waste management or circular economy sector
- Experience in the commercial or administrative sector of the public service
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage personnel and operational workflows
- Experience in procurement, contract awarding, and contract monitoring
- Experience in strategic planning and implementation of waste management concepts

- The position is based in Warngau (Miesbach district). Applicants must be able to work 39 hours per week (Full Time). Knowledge of German public service regulations (TVöD-VKA) is required.
