Job Summary

As a Financial Accountant specializing in statutory reporting at VDM Metals, you will play a critical role in the Group Finance & Controlling department. Based in Werdohl or Dortmund, you will be responsible for preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for domestic entities in accordance with HGB (German GAAP) and IFRS. Your day-to-day will involve managing complex accounting issues such as derivatives, capital expenditures, and provisions, while also supporting the consolidated group financial statements. You will act as a key point of contact for internal departments and external auditors and participate in strategic projects, including the migration to SAP S/4HANA and M&A activities. This position is particularly attractive due to its competitive salary range of €70,000 to €90,000, the security of an IG Metall collective agreement (35-hour week), and modern work-life balance perks including 2-3 days of mobile work per week and the option to work from other European countries for 10 days annually.

Required Skills

Education

University degree in Economics or Business Administration with a focus on Accounting or Finance, or a comparable commercial qualification with additional certification as a Certified Management Accountant (Bilanzbuchhalter).

Experience

  • 1-3 years of professional experience in the finance department of a manufacturing industrial company
  • Professional experience in preparing financial statements according to HGB and IFRS
  • Experience in handling complex accounting topics such as derivatives, Capex, and provisions
  • Experience working with SAP FI systems
