Job Summary

As a System Manager for Retrofit Train Control On-Board Units (OBU), you will play a pivotal role in integrating advanced train protection equipment into existing international rail fleets, including locomotives and high-speed trains. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve analyzing customer requirements, assessing technical feasibility, and designing comprehensive integration solutions that address functional, electrical, and physical installation challenges. You will act as a critical interface between international bid and project teams, defining technical interfaces with both internal and external partners. A unique aspect of this role is the end-to-end involvement, from the initial proposal phase to overseeing the 'first-of-class' prototype installation. Required Skills

Education

University degree in a relevant engineering field (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar).

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in rail vehicle technology, development, or engineering within rail vehicle projects
  • Proven experience in the system-wide understanding of rail vehicles, including functional, electrical, and mechanical aspects
  • Experience in adapting rail vehicles and managing interfaces between train protection systems and the vehicle
  • Professional experience working with industry-relevant standards such as CENELEC and TSI
