Job Summary
As the Technical Director for Monheim Shopping Center Companies, you will oversee the technical and infrastructural management of high-profile retail and office properties, including the Rathauscenter and Monheimer Tor. Your daily responsibilities involve ensuring operational safety, managing maintenance and repair cycles, and overseeing fire protection protocols. You will lead external service providers, negotiate maintenance contracts, and manage energy efficiency initiatives to optimize operating costs. This role is central to the city's urban revitalization strategy, acting as a key link between property management and construction teams. The position is unique for offering the stability of a public service contract (TVöD) combined with the dynamic environment of a municipal subsidiary. You will join a collaborative team focused on modernizing the city center, making this an ideal role for a leader passionate about sustainable building technology and community-focused real estate development.
Required Skills
Education
University degree (Fachhochschule/University) in Building and Operations Technology, Engineering, or a comparable qualification such as a state-certified technician with a completed Master Craftsman (Meister) examination.
Experience
- Professional experience in building management, property management, or facility management of commercial real estate
- Experience in retail, shopping center, or mixed-use (office/retail) real estate preferred
- Leadership experience in personnel management
- Experience in tendering, negotiating, and awarding service and maintenance contracts
- Proven expertise in sustainability, resource utilization, and energy management
