This role is based within the Environmental Service Department of the Osnabrück District, specifically focusing on Nature Conservation, Forestry, and Wind Energy. As an Environmental Engineer, you will be responsible for reviewing and assessing nature conservation, species protection, and forestry law issues within the framework of licensing procedures for wind energy projects. Your day-to-day activities involve providing expert statements, advising applicants on legal requirements, and managing the compensation area register, which includes conducting on-site inspections of nature conservation measures. This position is ideal for a professional with a background in landscape planning or ecology who enjoys balancing technical expertise with communication. The role offers a permanent contract under the TVöD public service pay scale (EG 11), flexible working hours, and a strong focus on work-life balance within a certified family-friendly administration.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (Bachelor or Diploma) in Landscape Planning, Landscape Development, Landscape Ecology, or a comparable field.

Experience

  • Relevant professional experience in environmental planning or nature conservation
  • Experience in evaluating and monitoring nature and species protection requirements
  • Experience in managing administrative procedures within a conservation or forestry authority
  • Proven ability to mediate between conflicting interests and develop solution-oriented outcomes
