Job Summary

This full-time position at the Chemnitz University of Technology involves supporting cutting-edge research projects within the Professorship of Material Systems for Nanoelectronics. As a Biological Technical Assistant, your day-to-day responsibilities will center on conducting sophisticated biological and biochemical experiments. This includes working with fertilized chicken eggs, cultivating embryonic and neuronal cell cultures, and performing detailed histological preparations and staining. You will be responsible for independent planning, execution, and documentation of experiments, as well as managing laboratory operations such as ordering supplies and equipment maintenance. The role is particularly attractive for those who enjoy interdisciplinary environments, as you will collaborate closely with scientific staff and external partners to evaluate biocompatibility and cytotoxicity. Located at the Center for Materials, Architectures and Integration of Nanomembranes (MAIN), the position offers a collaborative team atmosphere, family-friendly working conditions, and the stability of a public service contract until the end of 2027.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as a Biological Technical Assistant (BTA), Chemical Technical Assistant (CTA), or an equivalent professional qualification with relevant skills.

Experience

  • Professional experience in cell and tissue culture techniques
  • Practical experience with histological methods and staining
  • Experience in performing biocompatibility, cytotoxicity, and hemocompatibility tests
  • Proven experience in the independent planning and documentation of laboratory experiments
  • Experience working with biological samples, including animal tissues and organs
