Job Summary

As an Accounts Receivable Accountant and VAT Specialist, you will play a critical role in managing the financial integrity and tax compliance of a technically oriented company. Your daily responsibilities include the independent processing of accounts receivable, monitoring open items, and managing dunning processes. A significant portion of the role focuses on the VAT assessment of deliveries and services, ensuring compliance with commercial and tax laws. You will maintain tax keys in SAP, prepare VAT returns (VA, ZM, INTRASTAT), and manage EU input tax refund procedures. Beyond routine accounting, you will proactively analyze legislative changes, optimize accounting processes in collaboration with department heads, and provide expert consultation to operational business units during contract creation. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys process optimization and cross-departmental collaboration within a stable, permanent employment structure.

Required Skills

Education

Completed degree in Economics/Business Administration or a commercial vocational training (e.g., Tax Specialist, Industrial Clerk) supplemented by further certification such as a Certified Management Accountant (Bilanzbuchhalter).

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in accounts receivable accounting and VAT management
  • Professional experience in evaluating deliveries and services according to commercial and tax law
  • Experience in preparing VAT returns and annual tax reconciliation
  • Proven track record of regular professional training in VAT legislation and current case law
  • Experience working with SAP and MS Office in a financial context
