Job Summary

As an Energy and Environmental Management Officer at Diehl Defence, you will spearhead the cross-site control, development, and monitoring of management systems in accordance with ISO 50001 and ISO 14001 standards. Your daily responsibilities include maintaining and evolving existing energy and environmental processes, establishing management systems at new corporate locations, and advising leadership on legal and regulatory compliance. You will play a critical role in conducting internal audits, coordinating with external certification bodies, and defining key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure system effectiveness. This position is ideal for a professional who enjoys a mix of strategic planning and hands-on implementation, as you will also train employees on sustainability topics and support departments in executing climate protection measures. The role offers the unique opportunity to influence the environmental footprint of a major industrial player while ensuring high-level compliance across multiple German locations.

Required Skills

Education

University degree in a technical or scientific field (e.g., Environmental Engineering, Energy Management, Process Engineering, Chemistry) or a comparable qualification; additional certifications in Energy/Environmental Management are preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in energy or environmental management systems
  • Proven experience in auditing UMS/EMS management systems with relevant auditor qualifications
  • Practical experience in applying operational environmental and energy management practices
  • Professional experience in advising management and employees on regulatory compliance
  • Experience in cross-site project management and system implementation
