Job Summary

As a Java Developer for the primary digitalization partner of the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr), you will play a critical role in ensuring the digital future of national security. Based in Bonn, you will focus on the development and maintenance of the ETD/IETD application, a custom individual software solution for electronic technical documentation across various weapon systems. Your daily activities will include implementing software changes primarily using Java and Eclipse, conducting comprehensive testing, and providing 2nd-level support for incident and change management. You will work closely with data center operations and development departments while participating in customer meetings to align on technical requirements. Required Skills

Education

Degree in an IT-related field (Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, etc.) or equivalent professional qualification.

Experience

  • At least 2 years of professional experience in application management, specifically in software maintenance and modification.
  • Several years of development experience with Java, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Proven routine in professional software development standards.
  • Practical experience working with relational databases such as MSSQL or DB2.
  • Experience in 2nd-level support including incident, problem, and change management.
