Job Summary

This role involves modeling complex high-speed physical phenomena to set new standards in simulation technology. As a key member of the engineering team, you will focus on simulating underwater explosions (UNDEX) and in-air detonations (AIREX) using a specialized solver. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include developing and implementing new simulation methods and software features, particularly on the fluid dynamics side, and performing multi-physics simulations of fluid-structure interactions on a high-performance computing (HPC) cluster. You will manage customer projects independently, documenting results and presenting them to clients, while also supporting business development and client acquisition. This position is unique for its focus on highly dynamic processes and the opportunity to work with the proprietary DYSMAS software environment. It offers a challenging environment for those passionate about compressible fluid mechanics and thermodynamics in a high-stakes maritime and defense context.

Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Natural Sciences, Engineering, or a comparable field of study.

Experience

  • Professional experience in programming, specifically with Fortran or C++
  • Demonstrated experience in the numerical analysis of compressible fluids
  • Experience in the application of explicit simulation methods and Riemann solvers
  • Experience working with Linux-based High-Performance Computing (HPC) clusters
  • Proven track record in independent project management and client presentation

Languages

German (Fluent)English (Fluent)

Additional

  • The role requires the ability to work on-site for simulations on the company's HPC cluster. Candidates must be capable of handling customer acquisition and systematic documentation of complex calculation results.
