Job Summary

As a Linux IT Systems Administrator at the Innovation Center (IZ), you will play a pivotal role in supporting the conception and testing of IT systems and application landscapes. Acting as an incubator and accelerator for the IABG Group, the IZ focuses on industrializing cutting-edge research. You will be responsible for operating the IT infrastructure, managing hardware pools, and overseeing cryptographic certificates. Your daily work involves commissioning and administering Linux-based virtual machines, Docker, and Kubernetes environments. You will also automate tasks using tools like Ansible and design platforms for analysis, simulation, and machine learning. This role is unique because it offers a dynamic environment where you can experiment with organizational forms and business models while benefiting from attractive mobile working policies, pension subsidies, and comprehensive health programs. You will serve as a technical expert, bridging the gap between experimental technology and cross-departmental industrial application.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as an IT Specialist for System Integration (Fachinformatiker Systemintegration) or a degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a similar technical qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience in IT system integration or a similar technical field
  • Practical experience in the administration of Linux-based virtual machines
  • Experience in managing containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes
  • Professional experience with network components and protocols
  • Experience with automation tools and Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) is preferred
  • Experience with cloud platforms specifically Azure and EntraID is an advantage
