This full-time research position focuses on conducting high-quality, independent research at the intersection of collaborative learning and wireless networks. As a Research Associate, you will develop and analyze learning algorithms to address fundamental challenges in efficiency, adaptability, and system performance within the Internet of Things, communication networks, and robotics. Your day-to-day will involve designing complex algorithms and publishing findings in leading IEEE journals and machine learning conferences. This role is ideal for researchers passionate about fundamental AI research, including multi-armed bandits, transfer learning, and federated learning. The position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a long-term project until mid-2028, working within a group that bridges the gap between theoretical machine learning and practical engineering applications. It is a highly academic and technical role requiring a strong mathematical foundation and the ability to work on cutting-edge multi-agent systems.

Required Skills

Education

Excellent Ph.D. or M.Sc. degree in Computer Science (Machine Learning/AI) or Electrical Engineering (Signal Processing, Information Theory, Wireless Communications).

Experience

  • Professional experience in fundamental research in AI and Machine Learning
  • Proven track record of high-quality research publications in IEEE journals or ML conferences
  • Experience in developing learning algorithms for technical applications like IoT or robotics
  • Strong background in mathematical analysis and signal processing
