Job Summary

As a Ceramic and High-Temperature Materials Specialist and Technical Project Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in the design and specification of technical ceramics and high-temperature materials for industrial furnace construction. Your day-to-day responsibilities include selecting materials based on thermal shock, wear, and corrosion resistance, while supporting the engineering team with Design for Manufacturing (DfM) and Design for Cost (DfC) principles. You will evaluate manufacturing processes such as sintering and extrusion, conduct damage analysis, and oversee prototypes and commissioning from a technical perspective. This role is highly collaborative, requiring close coordination with suppliers, research partners, and internal departments during the bidding and concept phases. Required Skills

Education

Degree in Materials Science, Ceramics, Process Engineering, or a comparable qualification; alternatively, a technical vocational training with relevant advanced further education and practical experience.

Experience

  • Professional experience in the field of technical ceramics and high-temperature materials
  • Experience in assessing thermomechanical stress and material behavior
  • Proven track record in handling technical specifications, drawings, and industry standards
  • Experience in evaluating manufacturing and joining processes such as pressing, extrusion, and sintering
  • Practical experience in supporting prototypes, testing, and commissioning processes
  • Experience in technical database management or PLM systems is preferred
