This role involves serving as a Nature Conservation Officer for the District Office of Sächsische Schweiz-Osterzgebirge, specifically focusing on the enforcement of species protection laws related to trade. You will be responsible for processing inventory notifications, enforcing mandatory labeling requirements for protected species, and issuing marketing exemptions for strictly protected animals. A significant portion of the role includes conducting on-site inspections of breeders, traders, and zoos to ensure compliance with national and international conservation regulations. You will also handle the prosecution of administrative offenses and update wildlife registers. Required Skills

Education

University degree (Bachelor or Diploma) in Law, Administrative Science, Forest Science, Ecology, Biology, Agriculture, or Landscape Planning; plus basic administrative law training.

Experience

  • Practical experience in nature conservation law within a government agency, planning office, or relevant company
  • Demonstrated expertise in environmental law, animal welfare, and biology
  • Experience in handling administrative offenses and legal documentation
  • Proven ability to conduct field inspections and regulatory monitoring
