Job Summary

As an Automation Technician and PLC Commissioning Engineer at Brunel, you will play a critical role in bringing complex industrial technology to life. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve PLC programming, developing control software, and managing the commissioning of systems both in-house and at international client sites. You will be responsible for parameterizing HMI visualizations, managing fieldbus interfaces, and performing rigorous functional tests and troubleshooting during service calls. A key part of the role includes collaborating on Factory and Site Acceptance Tests (FAT/SAT) and coordinating with electrical and mechanical design teams. This position is ideal for technical professionals who enjoy a mix of software development and hands-on field work. It offers the stability of a permanent contract with a major engineering service provider, featuring 30 days of vacation, flexible working hours, and the opportunity to work on diverse projects across various industrial sectors.

Required Skills

Education

Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a certified Technician qualification in a relevant field.

Experience

  • Professional experience with PLC systems, specifically Siemens S7 and TIA Portal
  • Practical experience in electrical drive technology and fieldbus systems
  • Experience in commissioning industrial plants and performing functional tests
  • Proven ability to read and work with electrical circuit diagrams
  • Experience in technical documentation and interdisciplinary coordination with mechanical/electrical departments
