Job Summary

This role involves managing the intersection of international trade regulations and technical logistics for a leading technology services platform. As an Export Compliance and Dangerous Goods Management Specialist, you will be responsible for building and maintaining a material database in SAP, ensuring all components and spare parts are correctly classified according to customs and export control laws. This includes navigating complex international frameworks such as EAR, ITAR, and CCL (ECCN). You will act as a key liaison between internal project teams, manufacturers, and German authorities like BAFA and customs offices to clarify technical specifications and obtain official rulings. Additionally, you will oversee the classification of dangerous goods for road, sea, and air transport. This position is ideal for professionals with a technical background who enjoy analytical problem-solving and regulatory compliance. Required Skills

Education

University degree in Engineering (e.g., Electrical Engineering) or a comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience in material classification, customs tariffing, and export control
  • Experience working with international regulations including EAR, ITAR, ECCN, and BAFA
  • Proven track record in managing dangerous goods classifications for multiple transport modes (Road, Sea, Air)
  • Experience in maintaining material databases within SAP or similar ERP environments
  • Background in technical engineering or electrical systems to facilitate technical assessments
