Job Summary
This full-time research position at Furtwangen University (HFU) focuses on the intersection of artificial intelligence and medical technology. The successful candidate will lead the development of AI and Deep Learning models to analyze neurological surgical image data, using these insights to generate randomized synthetic data for 3D printing applications. Day-to-day responsibilities include the scientific development, calibration, and commissioning of mechatronic systems for laboratory environments and medical experiments. You will be responsible for documenting research results, creating project reports, and collaborating closely with both internal teams and external industrial partners. Required Skills
Education
University degree (Master's or equivalent) in Applied Computer Science, Systems Engineering, AI Engineering, Mechatronics, or a comparable engineering/natural science field.
Experience
- Professional experience in applied computer science, systems engineering, or mechatronics with a software focus
- Experience in creating or parameterizing AI and Deep Learning models
- Experience in scientific documentation and project-related reporting
- Experience in the commissioning and adjustment of mechatronic systems
- Previous experience in medical technology or product development is advantageous
- Experience in collaborating with industrial or scientific partners is preferred

- The position is fixed-term until May 31, 2028. Willingness to work across different university campus locations is required. Work permit for Germany/EU is required for public service employment.
