PhD Student / Research Associate in Chemistry and Biochemistry | Promotion (m/w/d)
Ruhr Universität Bochum
Job Summary
This position at the Ruhr-University Bochum (RUB) offers a unique opportunity to conduct cutting-edge research in the working group of Prof. Sebastian Kruss. The successful candidate will focus on the development of fluorescent biosensors designed to detect signaling molecules within the immune system. Day-to-day responsibilities include modifying fluorescent nanomaterials for molecular recognition and utilizing advanced fluorescence microscopy techniques to analyze these sensors. The ultimate goal of the project is to understand how immune cells process chemical information and to apply these biosensors in biomedical diagnostics, particularly for monitoring immune responses during tumor therapies. This role is ideal for researchers interested in the intersection of biophysical chemistry, biochemistry, and optical methods. The position is based at a leading German research university known for its interdisciplinary collaboration and dynamic campus environment, offering a 3-year contract at 67% of the TV-L E13 salary scale.
