Job Summary
The State Office for Geoinformation and State Survey of Lower Saxony (LGLN) is seeking a Software Developer focused on business information systems. In this role, you will work within a specialized three-person team to maintain and modernize a statewide application (AGN). Your daily responsibilities include the analysis, design, programming, and testing of software solutions, as well as migrating legacy Java-based monolithic architectures into future-oriented systems. You will also provide technical administration for databases and servers across development and production environments. This position is ideal for professionals seeking the stability of a public sector employer with the flexibility of mobile work and flexible hours. You will play a key role in the digital transformation of geodata services, collaborating with agile teams to implement new cost regulations and data exchange processes while supporting end-users through 2nd and 3rd-level support.
Required Skills
Education
University degree (Diplom FH or Bachelor) in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Geodesy/Geoinformatics, or a comparable field of study.
Experience
- Professional experience in development and maintenance of legacy Java applications
- Experience working in classic software development teams
- Proven experience in developing at least one self-initiated or independent application
- Experience in software modernization and migration projects
- Experience with monolithic 3-tier architectures and database technologies
