Join the newly established Professorship for Exposome Research at the University of Augsburg as a Bioinformatician, contributing to an interdisciplinary team focused on environmental health sciences. This role involves in-depth analysis of shotgun metagenome and exposome data, creating microbiome diversity and functional profiles, and integrating biological markers with clinical and nutritional information. You will apply advanced multivariate cluster analyses and machine learning techniques, including explainable AI models, to form subgroups and visualize scientific findings for publications. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with diverse teams in medicine and basic sciences within the BIOMEX project, aiming to derive risk profiles and prevention strategies along the gut-brain axis. It's an excellent chance to contribute to cutting-edge research on environmental and nutrition-related health risks, healthy aging, and climate change impacts.

Completed degree in Bioinformatics, Data Science, Biostatistics, or related fields
Experience
- Experience in analyzing metagenomic data from human context
- Experience in analyzing exposome data from human context
- Knowledge in statistics, clustering, and machine learning (e.g., PCA, Random Forest, k-Means)
