Job Summary
As a Power Electronics Software Developer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end development of software controlling power electronic circuits for grid-feed and stand-alone inverters. This role involves working with DC/DC converter stages for photovoltaic, battery, and fuel cell systems. Your daily activities will include analyzing requirements, designing software architectures, and developing real-time, hardware-near code in C/C++. You will also focus on implementing control algorithms and conducting rigorous testing via Unit tests and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) systems. This position is particularly attractive as it places you at the heart of the renewable energy transition within a medium-sized company that operates as a 100% subsidiary of Siemens. You will have the opportunity to work with modern DevOps practices, automated testing, and Continuous Integration while contributing to the selection and optimization of hardware components for cutting-edge energy technology.
Required Skills
Education
University degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a comparable qualification.
Experience
- Professional experience in developing hardware-near and real-time software in C/C++
- Experience in digital signal processing and control technology specifically for power electronics
- Experience in software engineering processes including requirements engineering and test procedures
- Experience with scripting languages for automated testing (Python, PowerShell, or Bash)
- Experience with Agile methods and DevOps mindsets is preferred
- Experience using generative AI in a development context is an advantage
