Job Summary
This leadership role involves overseeing the Building and Environment department for a thriving community in the Rhein-Main area, focusing on urban and environmental development. The successful candidate will manage diverse areas including structural engineering, project management, property management, civil engineering, urban and traffic planning, climate, and environmental initiatives. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing urban concepts, overseeing construction and maintenance projects for municipal facilities, and ensuring the economic viability of services through budgeting and quality management. This position requires a strong background in public administration or a related field, extensive professional and leadership experience, and in-depth knowledge of relevant legal frameworks. The ideal candidate will be a highly communicative, decisive, and resilient leader with excellent negotiation and team-building skills, committed to public service and continuous professional development.
Required Skills
Education
Master of Public Administration (MPA) or Public Management (MPM), or Bachelor's degree in Public Administration (e.g., Dipl. Verwaltungswirt (FH), Diplom-Verwaltungsbetriebswirt (FH), Public Administration (B.A.)), or comparable qualification.
Experience
- Professional experience in a relevant field
- Experience in leading a team of qualified employees

- Valid Class B (or 3) driving license. Willingness to attend municipal committee meetings outside regular working hours. Willingness to acquire or already possess basic firefighter training and be available for daytime fire department deployments (desired). Position is generally divisible.
