Job Summary
As a Software Packaging Specialist at FERCHAU, you will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of software application distribution within complex corporate networks. Your daily activities will involve creating and managing software packages using industry-standard tools like InstallShield, WiX, and AdminStudio, and overseeing deployment via SCCM. You will automate installations and updates through scripting on both Windows and Linux platforms, conduct rigorous compatibility testing, and perform deep-dive troubleshooting to resolve deployment errors. The role also requires maintaining detailed technical documentation and managing Active Directory group policies. Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training or university degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Informatics, or a comparable qualification.
Experience
- At least 2 years of professional experience in software packaging and distribution using tools such as SCCM, InstallShield, AdminStudio, or WiX
- Professional experience in managing Windows and Linux platforms
- Proven experience in script programming for automation purposes
- Experience with network management and software deployment in corporate environments
- Experience in error diagnosis and troubleshooting for software installations
- Professional experience with version control and release management
Languages
Additional
- German language skills at level B2+ are a mandatory prerequisite. Knowledge of virtualization/containerization (VMware, Docker) and Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is considered an advantage but not required.
