Job Summary

As a Systems Engineer at Airbus Defence and Space, you will be responsible for the end-to-end design, implementation, and monitoring of satellite control center systems. Your daily activities involve defining requirements for hardware and software components, managing data flows for user and management data, and ensuring secure telemetry and telecommand (TM/TC) operations. You will play a critical role in defining the ground segment architecture, conducting system trade-offs, and interfacing with ground stations, payload control centers, and IT infrastructure. Beyond technical design, you will develop operational products like Flight Operation Plans (FOPs) and support project management with risk assessments and planning. This role is highly attractive as it offers an unlimited contract with Airbus-equivalent pay scales, 30 days of vacation, and the opportunity to work on cutting-edge aerospace technology at the Taufkirchen site, a hub for European satellite and sensor system development.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Telecommunications.

Experience

  • At least 3 years of professional experience in IT or information systems
  • Professional experience in Systems Engineering including technical interfaces and secure data flows
  • Professional experience in Ground Station Engineering
  • Experience in software-based systems, networks, and IT infrastructure
  • Experience in creating validation and verification concepts

  • The position is based in Taufkirchen. Candidates must be able to work within the Airbus Defence and Space environment, which may require specific security clearance eligibility.
