Job Summary
As an IT Specialist within the Telematics Operations department at Autobahn GmbH, you will play a critical role in ensuring the 24/7 operational stability of Germany's highway traffic management infrastructure. Your daily responsibilities include the administration of active network components, managing data center hardware, and overseeing virtualization environments using VMware or Hyper-V. You will be tasked with the modernization of IT services, implementing strict IT security and KRITIS (critical infrastructure) protocols, and managing external service providers. This role is unique as it combines traditional system administration with specialized traffic technology support, offering the chance to work on large-scale infrastructure projects that keep German mobility safe and efficient. The position is based in Frankfurt am Main and offers a permanent contract within a major federal infrastructure operator.
Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training as an IT Specialist (Fachinformatiker) specializing in System Integration or a comparable qualification. Cisco CCNA certification is desirable.
Experience
- Professional experience in the operation of software distribution systems and network environments
- Practical experience in data center operations including hardware and storage systems
- Experience with server administration and virtualization technologies
- Experience in automating tasks and monitoring using scripting languages
- Experience in managing external IT service providers and implementing security protocols
