This role involves managing and developing the software asset management (SAM) and IT organizational processes for the Structural and Approval Directorate South (SGD Süd), a regional authority in Rhineland-Palatinate. Day-to-day, you will be responsible for ensuring license compliance using Matrix42, conducting software audits, and managing the lifecycle of IT assets. You will also handle budget planning for software licenses, oversee IT procurement, and provide 2nd-level support for MS Office products. The position is unique as it blends technical IT management with public administration duties, such as budget execution and internal process optimization. Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Business Informatics; OR qualification for the 3rd entry level in Administration and Finance (e.g., Bachelor of Laws, Administrative Informatics, or Administrative Specialist VWA/AII); OR completed vocational training as an IT Specialist with several years of relevant experience.

Experience

  • Professional experience in software asset management or license management is preferred
  • Experience with IT infrastructure and lifecycle management
  • Multiple years of relevant professional experience required if applying with a vocational IT background
