Job Summary
This role involves the development and implementation of sophisticated software for autonomous underwater systems within the military shipbuilding sector in Hamburg. As a C++ Software Developer, you will be responsible for the entire development lifecycle, from evaluating software architectures to implementing complex designs and decomposing system requirements. A significant portion of the day-to-day work includes creating detailed specifications at the system, component, and unit levels using DOORS, while ensuring that all architectural elements meet strict time, quality, and cost constraints. You will work within an agile development team, collaborating closely with colleagues to plan work packages and overcome technical hurdles. This position is particularly attractive for engineers who enjoy low-level programming and want to work on cutting-edge maritime defense technology in a permanent, full-time capacity.
Required Skills
Education
University degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) or vocational training as an IT Specialist (Fachinformatiker) with additional technical school training and specialized further education.
Experience
- 3+ years of professional experience in software development
- Extensive experience in creating SMART requirements and technical specifications
- Proven experience in modern C++ and hardware-proximate programming
- Professional experience working within agile development environments
- Experience in decomposing complex software architectures into implementation concepts
