Job Summary
As a Process Engineer at Peiner Träger GmbH, you will play a pivotal role in the technological advancement of one of Europe's leading steel manufacturers. Based in Peine, Lower Saxony, your daily responsibilities will involve spearheading process development within the steel plant, serving as the primary technical contact for production plant upgrades, and implementing optimization measures. You will design and execute metallurgical and material science experiments, develop process models, and manage development projects in close collaboration with maintenance, IT, and quality departments. This role is unique for its direct impact on sustainable construction through resource-efficient steel production. Required Skills
Education
University degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a comparable engineering field.
Experience
- Initial professional experience in a relevant engineering field such as metallurgy or process engineering
- Experience in planning, conducting, and evaluating metallurgical and material science research or trials
- Professional experience in coordinating development projects within an industrial or steel plant environment
- Experience in developing and implementing process models and optimization measures

- Must be physically fit for working in smelting works (Hüttentauglichkeit) and working at heights (Höhentauglichkeit). Willingness to perform troubleshooting directly on-site at the production plants and participate in on-call shifts (Rufbereitschaft) is required.
