Job Summary
The Environmental Biotechnology Group at the University of Tübingen is recruiting three PhD candidates to join an international, multidisciplinary team. In this role, you will work at the intersection of microbial processes and industrial applications, focusing on bioreactor cultivation and microbial physiology. Depending on the specific project, you will either investigate metabolically connected microbial communities, engineer oxygen-tolerance in anaerobic microbes, or develop integrated bioprocesses for sustainable biopolymer production. The positions offer a unique blend of fundamental science and engineering, providing opportunities to work with advanced cultivation techniques, automation, and real-time data analysis. These roles are particularly attractive due to their collaborative nature, involving partnerships with prestigious international universities in Spain, the Netherlands, and Australia. Required Skills
Education
Master’s degree in Environmental Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
- Professional experience in microbial cultivation or bioreactor systems is preferred
