Job Summary
The FAU gGmbH is seeking a Managing Director to lead a non-profit organization dedicated to the qualification, retraining, and social integration of unemployed individuals, particularly long-term unemployed persons, youth, and refugees. In this role, you will be responsible for the overall strategic and operational management of the company, representing it both internally and externally. Your day-to-day duties will include developing labor market promotion measures, managing a team of approximately 30 staff members plus 240 participants/clients, and ensuring the economic stability of the organization through budget control and grant acquisition. This position is unique as it combines high-level business management with deep social impact, overseeing essential community services such as food banks, clothing stores, and a women's shelter. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a background in social management, and the ability to navigate complex funding landscapes while maintaining high quality standards and AZAV certification.
Required Skills
Education
Successfully completed university degree (preferably in Social Management) or a comparable qualification.
Experience
- Several years of professional experience in labor market promotion or vocational training, specifically working with long-term unemployed or socially disadvantaged groups
- Several years of leadership experience in management or leading groups of people
- Proven experience in economic management, budget preparation, and monitoring
- Experience in grant acquisition and negotiations with cost carriers
- Experience in social management or non-profit operations is preferred

- Valid Class B driver's license; must fulfill the legal requirements of § 6 Para. 2 GmbHG for managing directors; regional networking in Sondershausen/Kyffhäuserkreis is preferred.
