Job Summary

This role involves supporting the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Environmental Technology at TH Köln in the preparation, execution, and documentation of structural engineering tests, with a specific focus on road construction. You will be responsible for setting up test and measurement devices, conducting independent material tests—particularly on bitumen-bound binders, asphalt, and natural stone—and maintaining laboratory equipment. A key part of the position includes assisting in teaching activities by guiding students and apprentices through laboratory work and ensuring the proper use of testing materials. Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as a Construction Materials Tester (Baustoffprüfer) or a degree/qualification as a Civil Engineering Technician (Bautechniker/Baustofftechniker), or a comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience in construction materials testing or civil engineering technology
  • Practical experience in setting up and operating technical testing equipment
  • Experience in documenting laboratory results and adhering to technical standards
  • Experience in handling hazardous materials is desirable
  • Experience in advising or supervising students or apprentices in a laboratory setting
