Job Summary
This is a full-time, permanent position within the Road Construction Department for the Heidekreis district in Lower Saxony. As a Civil Engineer, you will manage road and bicycle path infrastructure projects from initial planning and financing through to final implementation. Your daily responsibilities include coordinating with external engineering firms, managing public authorities, and overseeing construction sites. The role is unique in its holistic project approach, offering a structured onboarding process that welcomes both experienced professionals and recent graduates. Required Skills
Education
Degree in Civil Engineering or a comparable qualification.
Experience
- Professional experience in planning, tendering, and construction management of road construction projects.
- Experience in managing external engineering firms across service phases 2-7.
- Experience in dealing with citizens, public authorities, and planners.
- Experience in applying for and managing public funding/subsidies.
- Willingness to participate in staff work according to the Lower Saxony Disaster Protection Act (NKatSG).

- Valid driver's license and availability of a private car for business use (reimbursed) is required. Must have German language skills at C2 level. Willingness to participate in disaster control duties. Location: Soltau, Germany.
