Job Summary

This role involves joining a leading engineering services provider specializing in the decommissioning of nuclear facilities. As a Nuclear Waste Management Engineer or Scientist, you will work within a remote-based radiation protection team, taking responsibility for the development and assessment of disposal and waste concepts. Your daily activities will include defining disposal strategies, performing radiological waste characterization, and maintaining nuclide vectors. You will also design sampling and analysis concepts while coordinating with internal departments, experts, and regulatory authorities. The position is unique for its remote-first approach, allowing for nationwide flexibility within Germany, supplemented by project-based on-site visits when necessary. Required Skills

Education

University degree (Master or Bachelor) in Natural Sciences, Engineering, or a comparable field of study.

Experience

  • Professional experience in waste management for nuclear facilities, specifically regarding radioactive waste characterization and conditioning
  • Proven experience with waste verification procedures, clearance processes, or repository documentation
  • Experience in creating technical reports, evaluations, and auditable documentation
  • Experience in coordinating with technical experts and regulatory authorities
