Job Summary

As an Electrical Development Engineer at TKMS GmbH in Kiel, you will play a critical role in the design and implementation of power electronic components for submarines and naval vessels. Your daily responsibilities involve managing the full development lifecycle of components such as inverters and DC-DC converters, from initial concept to series production. You will utilize ECAD tools for circuit design, perform complex simulations for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), and conduct hands-on prototyping and debugging using advanced measurement equipment. The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including software developers and system engineers, to ensure components meet rigorous quality and reliability standards like MIL-STD and IEC. Required Skills

Education

University degree in Electrical Engineering, specializing in Power Electronics, Energy Technology, Control Engineering, Computer Science, or a comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience in the development of power electronic components such as inverters and DC-DC converters
  • Practical experience in circuit design and PCB layout using ECAD tools
  • Experience in simulation and analysis of voltage and EMC behavior
  • Experience in prototyping, debugging, and validation using specialized measurement equipment
  • Experience in hardware-related programming for FPGAs and microcontrollers
