Job Summary

This role is part of the 'Systemic Design of the Energy Transition in Municipalities' project at a leading German university. As a leading modeling and data expert, you will conduct building physics simulations for heat demand in urban quarters and perform data analysis using semantic 3D city models (CityGML, GeoJSON). Your daily work involves determining municipal energy needs across electricity, heat, and mobility sectors, followed by potential analyses and multi-criteria optimization of energy supply systems. Additionally, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining Git repositories for reference code. This position is ideal for professionals passionate about sustainability and resource efficiency. It offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of urban planning and engineering within a public service framework, featuring flexible working hours, up to 60% home office, and a central Munich location.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree in Energy and Building Technology, Statistics, Geoinformatics, Data Engineering, or a comparable field of study.

Experience

  • Professional experience in handling large datasets within a geoinformatics environment
  • Demonstrated expertise in energy technology and software engineering
  • Experience in building physics simulation and municipal energy demand modeling
  • Proven experience in Git repository management and documentation
