Job Summary
As the Commissioning Manager for the German market, you will lead the commissioning function for large-scale energy storage (EPC) projects. You will be responsible for ensuring that all projects are realized safely, with high quality, and within strict schedule and budget constraints. Your daily activities will involve leading and growing a team of commissioning specialists, fostering a robust safety culture based on the Fluence Safety Management System, and collaborating across engineering, construction, and operations departments. You will play a strategic role in planning personnel requirements, developing test protocols in accordance with grid operator requirements, and supporting sales engineering for new project development. This role is ideal for a leader who thrives in dynamic environments and is passionate about the energy transition, specifically within the battery storage and renewable energy sector. You will act as a key interface between internal stakeholders, contractors, and customers to drive continuous improvement in project delivery.
Required Skills
Education
University degree, preferably in a technical field such as Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or Mathematics.
Experience
- Leadership experience in the energy supply sector, specifically within generation, operations, or technical teams (Storage, Solar, Wind, or conventional energy).
- Proven experience in leading safety initiatives within an operational environment.
- Demonstrated success in technical problem-solving using structured analytical approaches.
- Practical experience in business process management, including project reporting, procurement, and change management.
- Experience in negotiating and managing third-party vendor contracts.
- Extensive experience in planning and coordinating multiple stakeholders for complex business performance goals.

- Willingness to travel up to 50%; experience with SAP or similar reporting tools is beneficial.
