Job Summary

This role involves supporting the German Research Foundation (DFG) in the 'Scientific Instrumentation and Information Technology' group. You will be responsible for processing funding applications for large-scale research equipment, including repairs and replacements, while providing expert advice to applicants and ministries. A major component of the position is serving as a technical bridge between users and IT development, where you will coordinate the implementation of IT and AI tools, document processes, and train staff. You will also perform statistical evaluations for federal and state authorities. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of administrative application management and technical process optimization. The role offers a high degree of autonomy, a modern workspace, and significant flexibility with up to three days of mobile work per week, all within a mission-driven organization supporting German science and research.

Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree (Bachelor or FH Diploma) in a technical field of study.

Experience

  • Approximately 3 years of relevant professional experience preferred
  • Professional experience in software development and AI applications
  • Experience in handling databases and communication media
  • Experience with large-scale scientific research equipment is an advantage
  • Proven experience in problem-solving and social integration within team environments
