Job Summary

This full-time role at the University of Bayreuth's Chair of Plant Ecology involves supporting researchers and teaching staff through comprehensive IT services. You will be responsible for system administration, including server and software maintenance, as well as managing research data and training staff on Open Science standards. A unique aspect of this position is its technical depth, requiring the programming of microcontrollers (such as Arduino) for environmental sensing and the maintenance of vegetation modeling software using C++ and R. Additionally, you will handle hardware and software procurement and maintain the department's website.
