Job Summary
This full-time, permanent position at Wismar University of Applied Sciences involves the technical management and development of laboratory experiments within the Faculty of Engineering. The successful candidate will oversee experiments in materials science, plastics technology, and surface/thin-film technology, with a specific focus on both destructive and non-destructive material testing. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing metallography, hardness testing, and tensile tests, as well as advanced 2D/3D radiographic inspections and acoustic emission analysis. Beyond technical testing, you will play a vital role in academic support by organizing laboratory internships, assisting students and doctoral candidates with their research, and maintaining all specialized equipment and standards. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys a mix of hands-on technical work, equipment maintenance, and educational support. Required Skills
Education
Successfully completed university degree (Bachelor or Diploma from a University of Applied Sciences) in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a comparable qualification.

- Professional experience in destructive material testing methods
- Professional experience in non-destructive material testing (NDT) methods
- Experience in the independent organization and execution of laboratory internships
- Experience in maintaining and servicing laboratory equipment and test setups
- Experience in supporting students or researchers with scientific practical work
